Throughout September, Trafford-based property developers, P J Livesey, turned gold in support of Childhood Cancer Awareness Month. Their fundraising efforts raised a whopping £2,180.50 in aid of Friends of Rosie.

September is internationally recognised as the awareness month for childhood cancer in association with the colour gold. From a gold-themed cake contest and raffle, to guessing the name of the giant gold bear, colleagues and visitors at the Trafford Park office, truly embraced the colour gold.

Earlier this week, members of the P J Livesey Group presented Friends of Rosie with their fundraising total. The donation will help the charity to fund pioneering research looking for improvements in the treatment and diagnosis of children with cancer.

My thanks go to everyone who helped to organise events and donated during the month, helping us to reach such a fantastic fundraising total.”

Every day more than 12 children and young people are diagnosed with cancer in the UK. Childhood cancer remains one of the most underfunded areas of cancer research. More dedicated research is needed to better understand the causes of childhood cancer and to develop gentler, more effective treatments.
