Together, we can give all children with cancer a brighter future. Become a Friend of Rosie and help us.
Ruth Grace was diagnosed with osteosarcoma, a type of bone cancer, when she was eight years old in October 2016.
As a Friends of Rosie Young Ambassador, she’ll be supporting the charity in promoting the work we do, suggesting and carrying out new fundraising initiatives, and sharing her experiences to connect with other children who have gone through or are going through cancer treatment.
Daniel, who is now in his 30s, was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukaemia (ALL) when he was three years old in December 1989. Daniel was actually treated on the same ward at the same time as Rosie, our charities namesake. Although he was too young at the time to remember Rosie, Daniel’s mum remembers her fondly and together they are fantastic supporters and ambassadors for the charity.
Mahesh, from Bolton, was first diagnosed with Ewing Sarcoma when he was eight years old, in May 1998. After two surgeries on his leg, Mahesh underwent 12 months of intensive chemotherapy, that also required him to miss nearly 14 months of school.
He then went into remission for almost 14 years. However, after a freak accident at the gym, Mahesh was again diagnosed with Ewing Sarcoma at the age of 21. Mahesh wants to use his experiences both as a child and as a young adult to raise awareness and help to close the funding gap between adult and childhood cancer research.
