We’re delighted to have received a grant from the Manchester Guardian Society Charitable Trust to redesign our website after being targeted by cyber criminals earlier this year.

As a small, local charity, our website is an essential tool in helping us to raise awareness and funding for vital children’s cancer research projects in the North West. While the recent hacking did not result in the loss of any personal data, it did result in the total loss of the website. The grant of £3,500 from the Manchester Guardian Society Charitable Trust will enable us to restore, redesign and relaunch their website and help secure it against future cyber-attacks.

We’ve appointed Wigan-based web development agency, Attain Digital, to develop their new website and provide essential ongoing support.

We’re excited to work with the team at Attain to create a great new, secure digital platform for raising awareness and supporting childhood cancer research in the North West.”

Earlier this year, the National Cyber Security Centre (NCSC) issued a warning to UK charities following an increase in the number of charities being targeted by cyber criminals. They issued guidelines for small charities to outline action steps to take to protect themselves from cyber attacks.
