Our Young Ambassador, Ruth Grace, recently appeared on BBC North West Tonight. Her appearance coincided with her return to school after almost four years in treatment. You can watch the programme here.
Ruth Grace, from Manchester, was diagnosed with osteosarcoma, a type of bone cancer, when she was eight years old. She had a horrific experience throughout her cancer treatment. She endured countless side effects, suffering a severe allergic reaction to one of the chemotherapy drugs, and eventually having her leg amputated. You can read her full story here.
As a Friends of Rosie Young Ambassador, Ruth Grace will be helping us to fundraise and raise awareness of the vital need for more research. In addition, she’ll also use the role to connect with other children who have been or are going through cancer treatment.
Well done to Ruth Grace and her family for raising much-needed awareness for research on the BBC News programme. Returning to school and appearing on TV all the same day! We’re so proud to have you on our team.
